π΅ Song of the Week: "Return to Innocence" by Enigma π΅
Dear 80s Church Subscribers,
π Welcome back to another uplifting edition of the 80s Church Newsletter! π This week, we're diving into the enchanting 1990βs, yes this song is amazing so we are jummping a decade, I always thought there was more words, but the few it has the meaning is amazing. "Return to Innocence" by Enigma, and connecting it to a timeless message from the Gospel of Matthew.
Lyrics
If you want, then start to laugh
If you must, then start to cry
Be yourself, don't hide
Just believe in destiny
Don't care what people say
Just follow your own way
Don't give up and use the chance
To return to innocence
Devotional - Matthew 18:3 (NIV):
"Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven."
π Devotional Reflection: π
In "Return to Innocence," we are reminded of the need to return to our authentic selves, much like the message in Matthew 18:3. Jesus teaches us that to enter the kingdom of heaven, we must change and become like little children. But what does this mean?
Just like the innocence we had as children, we should approach our faith with open hearts, trust, and unwavering belief. Children possess a remarkable ability to see the world with wonder and without the burdens of cynicism, doubt, or pride. They embrace love, devotion, and emotion without reservation.
In our spiritual journey, we often accumulate doubts, fears, and baggage that can distance us from God's kingdom. However, Jesus calls us to shed these barriers and return to a childlike faith, marked by pure and unconditional trust in our Heavenly Father.
π Takeaways and Reflections: π
1. Embrace childlike faith: Let go of skepticism and embrace a trusting heart in your relationship with God.
2. Cultivate wonder: Approach the mysteries of faith with awe and curiosity, just as children marvel at the world around them.
3. Release burdens: Surrender your doubts and worries to God, allowing His grace to restore your innocence.
Thank you for being part of our 80s Church community! π€ We hope this week's message and song inspire you to return to your spiritual innocence and deepen your connection with God.
With love and blessings,
John and Michelle
