Ok i know its been a minute : and since we have been “Out of Touch” this one is perfect.

Have you ever felt like life was moving so fast that you realized you had drifted from what matters most? The 1984 hit "Out of Touch" by Hall & Oates captures that feeling of disconnection. While the song speaks about relationships, it also reminds us of how easy it can be to become spiritually "out of touch" with God when we're distracted by the busyness of life.
The good news? God never moves away from us. He is always inviting us back into a close relationship with Him.

🎵 The Song

Out of Touch reminds us that when communication breaks down, relationships suffer. In our walk with Christ, prayer, reading Scripture, worship, and fellowship keep us connected to the One who loves us most.

Sometimes we don't realize we've drifted until we feel spiritually empty. Thankfully, God's grace is always reaching toward us.

📖 Devotional

/

James 4:8 (NIV)

"Come near to God and he will come near to you."

What a beautiful promise.

God doesn't ask us to have everything figured out before approaching Him. He simply invites us to come near. Whether you've been faithfully walking with Him or feel like you've drifted over time, His arms remain open.

Just like any healthy relationship requires time together, our relationship with God grows stronger when we intentionally spend time with Him. A few quiet moments in prayer. Reading His Word. Thanking Him throughout the day. These simple habits reconnect our hearts to His.

When we're close to God, we begin to see life differently. Peace replaces worry. Hope overcomes fear. Purpose becomes clearer because we're walking with the One who knows the path ahead.

If you're feeling spiritually "out of touch," today is a wonderful day to reconnect.

He is already waiting.

🌟 Takeaways

  1. Spend a few quiet minutes with God every day—even five minutes can strengthen your relationship.

  2. Don't let guilt keep you away. God's invitation is always, "Come near."

3. Stay connected through prayer, Scripture, worship, and encouraging Christian friendships.

💭 Reflection

Is there anything distracting you from spending time with God?

This week, choose one small step toward reconnecting. Open your Bible before checking your phone. Pray during your morning coffee. Take a walk and simply thank God for His goodness.

You'll discover that while we may sometimes drift, God's love never does.

May this week be one where you move from feeling out of touch to living in step with the One who never lets go.

Have an amazing week!

With Love,

John and Michelle Heffron 💕
